If you’re like me, you probably tend to think about idols in the terms
of external objects. Idols are something outside of us, they’re
something foreign, something you take pictures of in far-off temples,
something you wonder about. But idols are not just stone statues.
Idols are the thoughts, desires, longings, and expectations that we
worship in the place of the true God. In fact, Henry Blackaby says "An
idol is anything you turn to for help when God told you to turn to him
for help.” Part 1 of this 2 part series looks at the modern day idols
we run to, and what God thinks about that.

When Jesus was asked what the greatest commandment was, he said there are two – love God and love your neighbor as yourself. Sounds pretty simple. But have you ever wondered who your neighbor actually is? Does it only mean the person living next to you, or is it possible that Jesus meant something more? Jumping off of The Good Samaritan in Luke 10, Pastor Laurence East extends a challenge to be actively involved in the kingdom work God wants to do in and through us to those He has placed us around.

Have you ever asked the question, “What is God calling me to?” I believe He’s looking for a generation of risk takers who are willing to take bold steps of faith. Men and women like Peter who are not content to just sit in the boat but want to be where Jesus is. What is keeping you from risk taking and water walking? What is keeping you in the boat? It’s a question worth answering because you’ll never know what you’re missing out on until you swing that leg over the side of the boat and put your faith into action!

What happens if I don’t feel Him? Do I need ‘more’ of the Holy Spirit
or does he need ‘more’ of me? If you're wondering what you're missing,
this message will direct you to the one God has sent to walk alongside
you. You are not alone.

What does it mean to be made in the image of God? And who is this God who has made us in his image?
Pastor Mike begins unpacking this question in part 1 of a 3 part series, with the firm belief that you will never know who you are until you know who’s you are.
Some of you feel that your life is a mistake.
But God doesn’t see it that way.
He fashioned you on purpose and for a purpose.
He has made you Imago Dei – In the Image of God."

Pastor Mike turns our attention to a Christian tradition that dates back 17-hundred years, and yet has been all but ignored in most Evangelical churches today.
It has to do with three symbols : a bowl of ashes, the cross, and the communion table.
In this message, Pastor Mike invites us to consider joining him in a 40 day spiritual journey of preparation, a time of self-examination and repentance, in advance of Easter.
