Are you looking for a place to serve God overseas? Alive Ministries & Willow Park Church are focusing their efforts on India, and have several trips headed that way in 2008.

This is an opportunity for people to really step out beyond the local opportunities and take on board what God might have for them on a much bigger scale. We are looking for Alivers for the 6 month team! This will include a significant amount of time with God, listening for his call, and it is a time where people are so dependent on God. You are forced to depend on him. Your whole life living in complete communion with your Maker, it shakes your life, your priorities, everything.

Important Information & Dates

Men’s Service Team

Led by Jason Siebenga/Dave Goertz

When: Oct 15 - Nov 2, 2008

What/Who: A service/hands on awareness trip geared towards men who want to serve and have an adventure! (motorcycle riding a pre-requisite)

Where: Starting in Delhi, travelling to Mussoorie to serve at Woodstock School, and then through the mountains to Sabathu and Shanti Niketan Children’s Home to serve alongside the Construction Team.  Then on to Manali to serve at the Dar-ul-Fazl Home. Finally traversing the Karakorum pass (the world’s highest road) to Leh, the capital of Ladakh (Tibet).

Construction Team

Led by James Peters

When: Oct 22 – Nov 12, 2008

What: A hands-on building project; rebuilding the boys dormitory and rebuilding the toilet block for the little boys at Shanti Niketan Children’s Home

Who: Ideal for anyone with construction experience but people can also paint and work with kids

Where: Arriving in New Delhi, and then travelling to Sabathu on the  border between Punjab and Himachal Pradesh. The team will be based near the Children’s Home for the majority of the time. There will be a few days spent in Delhi and Agra at the end of the project.

Prayer and Awareness Team

Led by Laurence East

When: Oct 20 - Nov 5, 2008

What: The team will be ministering to others through prayer and worship; it is a ministering role rather than a hands on receiving role; involves preaching, sharing, teaching trip around strategic historical and religious spots in India; developing a spiritual and geographical understanding of the challenges of doing missions amongst the least reached in the world (10/40 window)

Who: For spiritually mature people who have a passion for contemplative, passionate prayer, meditation, and are seeking to be challenged by God

Where: Delhi, Varanasi, Ludhiana, Amritsar and various parts of rural Punjab (also serving at Shanti Niketan Children’s Home).

VBS (Vacation Bible School) Team

When: August 5 – 29, 2008

What: The team will run a VBS at each orphanage, will spend days working with the children, giving the staff a break

Who: For people passionate about  working with and ministering to children

Where: Arriving in New Delhi, the team will fly to Manali in the Himalayan mountains to work at Dar-ul-Fazl Children’s home. The second part will involve travelling by jeep down to Shanti Niketan Home in the foothills of Himachal Pradesh near Punjab. The final few days will be spent in Delhi and Agra.
